Azores

A group of islands in the North Atlantic. 

The islands used Portuguese stamps until 1868, when overprinted stamps came into use. Separate Azores issues were replaced by regular Portuguese stamps in 1931. 

In 1980 Portugal again began to issue separate stamps for the Azores.
