Cameroun: Abbias

Abbias are fruit Shells, which are sculptured on the convex part with a great delicacy. They are typical of Cameroun.

Pictured are men, animals and everyday life scenes with that Abbias create extraordinary totemism in to relation men and the surrounding universe.

According to Geraldine Forestier the Abbia on the stamp Cameroun 1969 pictures a honeybee, seen on the head of the insect.
