Heraldry: an own identidy
In the Middle Ages the nobles and other important persons had their own coat of arms. With growing importance cities also created a coat of arms and with that their own identity.
In most countries these town-arms were registrated and officialy accepted around 1820-1840. When there is a bee or a beehive on the coat of arms it generally points to industry or simply to beekeeping.
